experiment

i stitched this up as an experiment -- the embroidered initial in that great typography on a striped towel.

it's kind of a wild mix -- the styles are so different, but i think that is why i just had to try it.

i can't decide how i feel about it...
do we like?

Oo! I like it because it's different and I'm a nut for striped linens and such. ^_^.

I'm thinking that perhaps a one or two-strand backstitch for an outline might do the trick so that the letter isn't lost. I absolutely love it, but my eye tends to lose the letter and focus on the stripes after looking at it for a minute. ^_^.

I love this - it's like a wonderful Edwardian deckchair that thinks it's a monogrammed handkerchief but is actually an awesomely dapper towel.

p.s. Hi! Just found your blog via your Etsy shop. Loving your work!

hooray! okay == thank you SO much for the feedback -- i really do appreciate it. and, since it seems like the general consensus is that we like it (despite the stitches being a little lost in the stripes -- which i agree with, but think i like the effect more than i am frustrated by it.) -- i'm gonna list this as an option on my etsy shop. i've got these towels in blue stripes, too -- so that's an option as well. thanks again for the feedback and thank you so much for leaving comments -- i'm having fun looking all of you up and seeing what you do, too!

I love it! It reminds me of the old fashioned ticking that is so popular right now. The letter looks great on it. :)
